A gathering of current and aspiring Data Science practitioners. We focus on practical applications of exploratory data analysis, statistics, machine learning and data visualization to solve interesting problems in any field. Our aim is to create a forum for discussing the techniques of data science, independent of the tools used for it (such as R or Hadoop, for which there are excellent meetups in Atlanta already).

Security Data Science is focused on advancing information security through practical applications of exploratory data analysis, statistics, machine learning and data visualization. Although the tools and techniques are no different that those used in data science in any data domain, this group has a micro-focus on reducing risk, identifying fraud or malicious insiders using data science.

This is a group of people who do data visualization. Scientific animators, Tufte fans, fractal fiddlers, data miners, and artists are welcome. We'll meet on a regular basis to talk about visualization and show off our latest work. Where and when has yet to be determined. A nice quiet pub that everyone can get to would be ideal.

This is a group for people who genuinely enjoy learning, sharing, creating and designing anything data. It's about telling a story, and how data visualization is becoming more important than ever.
